Get Started — Steps to enroll

Enrollment for Fall 2008 closed June 30th, 2008 at 5PM CDT. Applications received after this date will be considered for the next enrollment period.

Enrolling at Insight is a simple four-step process. To determine if Insight School of Minnesota is for you, review the web site, the FAQs, attend an informational session, and/or speak to our staff as needed.

Completion of the Open Enrollment Form in no way commits the student/family to enroll, but it is required by the state for enrollment purposes. There are no fees for completing the enrollment process, and residents of Minnesota may attend Insight School of Minnesota tuition-free.

You will be contacted by Insight School of Minnesota within one month (usually within just a few days) from the date of submission.

Step One - Complete the Minnesota Open Enrollment Form: Print and complete the simple enrollment form found here.

Minnesota allows students the opportunity to apply for enrollment in schools that may be outside their resident district (Minn. Stat. § 124D.03). Last year, more than 30,000 Minnesota students did just that. Insight School of Minnesota is using this form for all enrollment of Brooklyn Center residents and non-Brooklyn Center residents, as the first step towards enrollment. As such, and because Brooklyn Center's status within the state exempts it from the enrollment deadlines, Insight School of Minnesota applicants can disregard the general information and instructions at the top of the form. You may submit the form at any time. The state enrollment deadlines to not apply.

The student's parent/guardian should fill out all the fields in Section 1 and Section 2 and follow the steps below for submission.

Step Two - Submit the Minnesota Open Enrollment Form:

Open Enrollment Forms can be submitted three ways. Though all are acceptable, fax and email are the timeliest.

By Toll-Free Fax: 1.866.651.3349
By Email: info@insightmn.net
By Mail: 6870 Shingle Creek Parkway, Suite B-112, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430

Step Three - Notify your current school/district: If you reside outside of Brooklyn Center School District, you must inform the school your child is currently attending that you are applying to a non-resident district for enrollment. If your child is currently in Homeschool or Private school, enrollment in Insight School of Minnesota will result in him/her being reported as a Public high school student.

Step Four – Request an unofficial transcript. When contacted by Insight School of Minnesota, you may be asked to get a copy of your student’s current unofficial transcript.

The Open Enrollment form is the first step in becoming an Insight School of Minnesota student. When your enrollment application is processed, you will be contacted with more information regarding additional steps to register your student in his/her courses.
